Shiraz-2004

Shiraz 2004

Winemaker, Mike McRae's Comments:

An elegant wine with spicy complexity - perfect for char grills

Fresh berry aromas with black olive flavours and a stylish palate with good integration of spicy berry flavours and fine-grained tannins from the oak and fruit.

Suggested Foods:

Delightful with char grills, roast beef, lamb

Suggested Cellaring:

Very approachable already though this wine will benefit from further cellaring to 2007 - 2009.

Viticulture:

The season was classic Grampians - cool and dry with long ripening conditions - producing very good yields and very good fruit quality. The grapes were picked very late in May to achieve rich, ripe fruit.

Maturation:

Matured in new French oak barriques for 6 months.

  • 14.5% alcohol
  • Estate Grown, Vintaged & Bottled
