2007 Rose
Fermented from free run juice of Pinot Noir and Shiraz fruit, this blend displays refreshing flavours of cherry, strawberry and plum with a tough of spice. A crisp lingering acidic finish make this one ideal to accompany seafood and Asian style dishes or enjoy on a hot summers afternoon.
2006 Montara Merlot
Fermented in rotomatic tanks to gently extract flavour and tannins from the fully ripened fruit, then matured in French oak for 9 months. The result is a finely structured Merlot with black cherry aromas and flavours of fruitcake, back olive and mocha blending well with the medium toasty oak to produce a soft silky palate.
Serving suggestion – well suited with roast lamb, pasta, lighter red meat dishes and wild mushrooms.
2005 Montara Shiraz Port
This light vintage Port shows the vibrant colour and intensity of Montara’s outstanding Shiraz 2005 vintgae. The rich spicy berry flavours are complemented by 9 year-old brandy spirit giving a complex smooth yet firm finish. A rare treat – very few Ports are made from fruit grown in a cool climate like Ararat.
Serving suggestion – Delightful with pears, chocolates, cheese, berries, figs. Or serve in the rocks for a refreshing aperitif.
